A-B TO BUY OUT SOAVE IN CHICAGO There have been rumblings about this for months, but it has become apparent that A-B will purchase the remaining 70% stake in a Chicago A-B distributor, City Beverage, from Soave Enterprises. Recall that A-B already owned 30% of the operation. City has four locations in Chicagoland selling around 15 million cases. The acquisition, expected to close after the first of the year, would represent a big increase to A-B's branch operations. A source
