After enduring a moribund year, domestic shipments posted a 4.6% gain in August, according to Lester Jones of the Beer Institute. Not only that, July shipments were restated, so instead of being down 500k barrels, it was only down 300k barrels. I was kind of having a bad day until these numbers hit the screen. That means domestic shipments are only down 2.1% YTD through August.
