WA Brewers File “Copycat” Self-Distribution Suit in Idaho

Dear Client:  It appears that Washington craft brewers think they have a recipe for success in challenging self-distribution laws they say favor in-state brewers while discriminating against out-of-state producers.  In a “copycat” lawsuit obtained by CBD, WA craft brewers Dwinell Country Ales and Varietal Beer Co. (along with a couple of Idaho consumers) have sued Idaho Alcohol Beverage Control Bureau Chief Rocky Gripton and Attorney General Raul Labrador, claiming that state law allowing brewers that produce 30,000 barrels or less
