Update on HDC’s Automated Picking System

Houston Distributing Co.'s automated picking system is finally up and running at full capacity, and HDC's president Bo Huggins says that overtime pay as a percent of total pay has gone from about 15% to 4%. The system can pick 70,000 cases a night of over 300 SKUs and trucks are loaded on time in the morning at a fraction of the number of warehouse workers.
