Heineken Posts Strong First Half

Dear Client:Heineken NV announced stronger than expected first half earnings earlier this morning, with margin expansion and revenue up a big 4.8%. But the interesting news comes out of the U.S., where STRs have improved sequentially both in the first half, the second quarter, and into July. First half STRs at HUSA were up 0.9% (shipments up 2.0%), outperforming the beer market in general and increasing share. In the second quarter, STRs increased by 2.3% with shipments up 4.9%.Heineken USA
