7-Eleven chief Joe DePinto continues to push for heavy liquids (including beer) to join grocery and frozen products and get delivered by third party to its outlets, a model which would be more "customer centric" and "driven by demand." This is the model used in the UK and Japan, says Joe, (the latter being where 7-Eleven's parent is based). That was the thrust of Joe' remarks to IRI's "Insight to Impact" CPG conference yesterday at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas.
