Pennsy Guv Doesn’t Like New Bill
Governor Tom Corbett spoke out against the amended version of H.B 11 that passed through the Pennsylvania House Liquor Control Committee this week, reported the Tribune-Review. A spokesman for Tom, who has pushed for privatization all year, said the governor feels the system proposed is "not privatization." The system in question would allow state stores to continue exclusively selling liquor, but add 1,200 "enhanced distributor" licenses that allow beer distributors and some grocery stores to pay $50,000 for a license to sell beer and wine
