NBWA Lobs States Rights at the FTC

The NBWA is clearly not happy with the Federal Trade Commission's proposed settlement with Four Loko's Phusion Projects. You'll recall that under that deal, Phusion would have to put a resealable cap on its 23.5oz cans and add a warning label that it contains the same alcohol as 4.5 regular beers. General counsel Paul Pisano sent a letter to the FTC on December 2 expressing their "disapproval" and claiming that "the proposed settlement was apparently crafted in total disregard of the state's primary role in the regulation of the distribution and sale of alcoholic beverages and undermines state efforts to address the problems associated with these products."
