Maita Sues to Stop Termination

California law "does not grant MillerCoors the right to terminate or cancel existing distribution agreements that are otherwise terminable only for specified cause." So says the lawsuit filed by Maita Distributors last week against MillerCoors in the same federal court that declared that California law doesn't give successor suppliers the automatic right to terminate. We anticipated this lawsuit coming as Maita seeks to fight its termination as the pending arbitration looms next month to determine what Maita's brands are worth by California's fair market value rules to MillerCoors' approved distributor DBI .
