Five times gross profits was the going rate, or "fair market value", for the Crown Imports brands, at least last summer, according to a lawsuit filed by Capital Beverage and its owner Kenneth Adamson in California. In his case, that's $45 million, and that's just for Crown. The suit also reveals that DBI paid 5 times gross for Crown brands in its other NorCal distributorships it recently purchased.
