As promised, California Alcohol Beverage Control general counsel Matt Botting has responded to 7-Eleven's plan to initiate a central warehousing scheme whereby beer distributors would sell into a third party warehouse for distribution to 7-Eleven outlets. While 7-Eleven feels that it doesn't require the blessing of the state to initiate the plan, clearly the ABC's opinion matters, and their opinion so far is a blow to the c-store chain.
